Magnolia Hills is proud to announce that we have been selected as the host farm
for the Hay!Land Olympics. This is a first as the Olympics have never been hosted in the state of Virginia! It is a great
honor and a wonderful experience for all of us here at Magnolia Hills.
We are just
few days away from the opening day of the Hay!Land Olympics. The Olympic Selection Committee will grace us with their presence
this weekend to see that the required changes have been made to ensure that the Hay!Land Olympics are a success.
June 15th,
2008. We are excited to announce that we have been selected by the Olympic Site Committee to be the host farm for the Hay!Land
2008 Olympics!! Preparations have been underway since the announcement was made on June 1st! We have taken over
the HHuA, HL Hunters Association. We’ve already hosted the HHuA Reunion Show and it was a success. For details on the
results you can to the HL Forum. We hosted the HWA Memorial Day show and it was a success. It was a fun way to spend the day.
Sydney Allyn Kelly
was introduced in the game as a newborn, but we aged her to the age of 8. She is riding Rythmical BL in the Pre-Childrens
hunters. We’ll see how she does in the upcoming HHuA shows.. We are not sure if she’ll show in the Olympics. It
might be too much for with getting ready to go back to school the very next week.
We are happy have
our dear friends all the way from Colorado making a second home on our farm. We have built a facility, and barns that will
house Lijas horses while she’s showing at Magnolia Hills. She will have 4 identical barns as we do. They will house
112 horses. You can click here to see their
new facilities.

Update of new
members to Hay!Land. I am so proud to announce that our close friend, Crystal, has decided to return to Hay!Land. This brings
me to a difficult announcement as far as the breeding program goes. Stoneridge Sporthorses was the sole of the breeding program.
With her return, we no longer have horses for the breeding program. We are happy to say that all of Crystals Stoneridge Sporthorses
will be going home this weekend. I’m very sad that they’re leaving, but ecstatic that Crystal is returning to
the game.
We are proud
to welcome to Magnolia Hills, Aces Clearly Dun! She is known as Acie and is going to be quite the looker. (Pictures to come.)
Her mom just arrived the other day for the HWA For the Love of Western show on the 14th. Acie and Mom are happy
to be spending time together.
Someone else
we are welcoming to Hay!Land and Magnolia Hills is Kate Carter! She is returning to HL after being gone for 4 years. We welcome
her with open arms and hope that you will do the same! She is bringing with her some of our favorite western competitors such
as: CEq. SS North Star, SEq. SS Baldknobber Boy, EEq. SS Wilson's Creek, SEq. SS Docs Texas Star. Kate has more horses that
she is planning to return to HL and we can’t wait to see them again. She has entered the HWA show on the 14th
and we are thrilled to have some more intense competition! So when you see Kate and her horses around the farm, stop and say
hello.
We are retiring
some of our horses due to injuries, age, and lack of interest in the current discipline. Some may say that age has nothing
to do with retirement, and that the owner knows their horses best. We have taken serious consideration of the views of close
and valued friends, and have decided to retire and change the following disciplines for the following horses:
Locomotion retires
from Advanced Reining.
Moira is on partial
retirement. She has had lack of interest in jumping recently so we’ve decided to give her a break.
Prince Barek
is training in a new discipline: Dressage! He has perked up with new ideas and training techniques.
Royal Renegade
is retiring from show jumping. He has shown lack of energy and will have some much needed rest. He might return to a lower
level of show jumping in a few months.
Tickle Me Fella
is retiring from Advanced Barrel Racing. We are losing TWO of our western competitors, but feel that the time off is going
to be good for them.
Belle is taking
a rest from Grand Prix Show Jumping and is going to be training in Dressage.
Licensed to Fly
is in Suitability for Dressage training after being removed from the Fall Harvest show in October.
I have been advised
by my physician that I need to refrain from riding. Some of you may know that I’m pregnant (ONLY IN HL). I have experienced
severe morning sickness to the point of being hospitalized. I was sent home with the understanding that I must remain in bed
for the remainder of my pregnancy. I have been able to keep foods and liquids down recently and that means that the baby is
getting stronger, and I’m gaining weight (OH BOY!). I’m happy to be able to move around. My loving sons, Ben and
Barek went out of their way to get me a scooter so that I can be mobile in the barns. I’m not allowed to walk anywhere.
I have permission from my doctor, so don’t think that I would do this on my own. I have a very dear friend here, Lija,
and she is keeping me pretty occupied! We’ve been going to visit various horses while she’s been here. She’s
been there for me at times when I’ve needed to talk and I thank her for that. She came here from Colorado early. She
has worked via computer to view the horses in Colorado. She has horses entered in the HWA show in a few days. She came the
day I got home from the hospital. She has watched over me like a hawk, with the approval of George- my husband. Words can’t
say enough for the gratitude that George and I have for Lija. She is more like a sister to me than a friend.
She is finally
here! Lil Acie has finally arrived! She is small, but healthy and is going home with us when we leave in a few days. Here
are her specifics:
Show Name: Deq.
Aces Clearly Dun. She is a January 10, 2008 Bay Quarter Horse Filly. She is being trained in Western events, but is currently
showing in the Western Halter divisions.
The first of
two newborn foals have arrived!
DUN HOTRODDIN AGAIN arrived at 234 am Saturday morning. Born on January 5, 2008. Only
3 days before he was expected. It was a normal delivery as Hotrod was Bellas Hotroddin Baby's first foal. She did well and
both are doing great! Hotrod is having his first play date in the snow this morning and he's excited! He's such a sweet little
fella. I can't wait to get him home to VA. These are his specifics: Deq. Dun Hotroddin Again, born 1/10/2008 Dunskin Roan
Quarter Horse Colt. He is currently being trained in the western events, and is shown strictly in the Western Halter classes.
Aces Choice is Clear is due anyday now and we will give the details of her foal when she arrives. We are expecting
a filly!
9/28/07
After
months of anticipation, Dun is finally home. He arrived yesterday to a large fan fare. Most of our show team was present to
welcome the prestigious stallion home. I can't be any happier. I remember joining Hay!Land and seeing this beautiful animal
at the HWA shows and saying 'WOW!'. Now he's owned by us. He will take Friday and Saturday off and rest. He will begin his
training regimen on Sunday.
His first show will be the Players' Council Fall Harvest. He will show only in the Western
divisions.
News Updated
Wednesday, September 26th, 2007
As many of you don't know, I have had some health issues that have been keeping me
from showing to the fullest intent! I am on the mend- no need to worry. Many things have changed around the farm since our
last update in the Spring.
One of the most sought after horses is now home for good! Dun It Again is now at Magnolia
Hills! He just arrived yesterday and will make his showing debut at the Fall Harvest in a few weeks! Our western trainers
are ecstatic that Dun It Again is owned by Magnolia Hills. I have always admired this great stallion, and will proudly show
him once I'm cleared to ride again!
Remember the foals that were born in August and September 2006? It's hard to believe
that they are another year older. We are very excited about their progress and how the foals are growing! We haven't had any
more breeding here at home, but there is one scheduled with another farm in HL. Details will follow once the foal is born.
Updated: April 27, 2007: Our hosting show schedule has slowed down, I've been dealing with some health issues and
it's prevented me from hosting the Show Jumping event as promised at the end of April. Our new Show Jumping 'only' arena is
finally complete. We've been keeping the construction of this arena a secret because it's a surprise for my husband. Most
of you probably don't know that George has been away for some time looking for additional horses to purchase. He's just arrived
home with the newest addition. I don't know anything about the horse except that he is a magnificent jumper! So our children
got together and thought that the arena should be a gift for him. Since our grand prix jumper has been injured indefinitely,
he wanted another horse to keep him busy while Licensed to Fly was injured. Our new addition is NOT a Grand Prix jumper, but
is on his way to that level. Now that the arena is complete, we can again focus on hosting shows. The arena is a typical show
jumping arena. It's capable of holding 250 spectators and is adjacent to the current arena. It is being linked so that horses
won't have to go in and out of weather to get to the new arena. The riding area will never be torn down except to change the
jumps for different show jumping events. This is solely for show jumping. It is a climate controlled arena which will be nice
since the weather is getting warm! As soon as I get the approval from my doctor to ride again, we will make the big announcement
about the new show arena, and our first show. George is pretty adamant that I don't ride until I have approval.
Boarders
& Mini-Barns: We only have one Mini-Barn right now, and that belongs to Caitlin. As always- we are definitely welcoming
all breeds and disciplines here at the farm. All that we ask, is that you keep your boarding fees paid on time.
Associations
we've joined recently, 2007: HLSJA and the Halter Association!
Other News:
Plans are in the works for the new
breeding program in Hay!Land. I've been working closely with Crystal, former player that owned Stoneridge Sporthorses and
some GREAT mares and Stallions! Our plan is to house 28 of her mares and stallions at the PC members barns! Our barn will
house 8 out of the 28! I can't announce who they are yet because this is not final. I will keep you updated on this when things
are finally put in place.
Some updated news: As of April 8, 2007.
We have acquired one of the most sought after
best stallions and studs in Hay!Land today! He left the game when his owner, Amethyst, left. He is here and will make his
debut at the PC Fall Harvest show! Our western trainers are ecstatic that Dun It Again is owned by Magnolia Hills. I have
always admired this great stallion, and will proudly show him once I'm cleared to ride again!
I think that's all for
now! I've been racking my brain for the last few days to make sure that we tell you everything that's been going on.
